Hello Messy Fam!
It has been a while since I have written a blog! The last few weeks have definitely kept me on my toes, and I made the conscious decision to pack away my paint brushes for a bit and spend quality time with my family. Pure bliss — and, as expected… a very Messy Home!
As this year comes to a close, I find myself pausing. Not rushing into planning for the new year (even though that probably should’ve been done ages ago), but instead looking back. And the feeling that rises to the top is pure gratitude.
This year wasn’t about paint nights, events, fundraisers, or ticking boxes. It was about connection. It was about building a community. It was about coming together and sharing moments.
Moments shared between people who walked into a room as strangers and left with laughter in their lungs, paint on their hands, and a little more joy in their hearts.
I had the privilege of watching friendships grow over splashes of paint. I saw bonds strengthen as people slowed down, put their phones away, and gave themselves permission to experience childlike freedom through art again. Proof that creativity has a way of opening doors we didn’t even realise were closed.
This year taught me so much.
It taught me:PatienceTo believe in myselfTo dream freelyTo trust the processAnd most of all, to trust God’s timing
I feel incredibly blessed to have met the people I met this year. Every single person who attended an event, supported from the sidelines, shared a post, brought a friend, or simply believed in a little messy dream — you all became part of my story. Some of you didn’t even realise you played a role… but you did. And I am so deeply grateful for that.
There were challenges, of course. Growth isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, and it’s definitely not always neat. But every lesson came wrapped in purpose, and every hurdle reminded me why I started in the first place — to create a safe space where people can connect and feel at home in their creativity.
As we step into a brand-new year, my heart is full and my excitement is real.I wish every single one of you a beautifully blessed 2026 — a year filled with more love, more life, more laughter, and plenty more paint.
May you create boldly.May you laugh often.May you find joy in the messy, imperfect moments.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for being part of this journey.
Here’s to a new year, a fresh canvas, and all the magic still to come.
Let’s make it colourful.Let’s make it meaningful.Let’s make it MESSY.
Happy new year from my family to yours.
All my love
Sonette
