Hey, you beautiful mess of a woman. Yes, you; with the paint-stained hands, the chaotic schedule, and the wild heart that never quits.
Happy Women’s Day.
Before we throw glitter in the air and cheers to all the wins, let’s remember why this day even exists.
Back in ’56, 20,000 fierce South African women marched to the Union Buildings. Not for a photo op. Not for a hashtag. But because enough was enough.
They were hungry for freedom, for dignity, for justice. And they showed the world what it looks like to stand tall when everything tries to knock you down.
They were defiant. Loud. Unshakable. And so are we.
You and I wear messy buns because we don’t have time for perfect hair. We dream big because somewhere, sometime, someone told us we couldn't do it. And yeah, a little glitter helps remind us we’re magic even on the hardest days.
This day isn’t just about pink cupcakes or feel-good quotes plastered on your feed. It’s about raw, real, relentless resilience. It’s about fixing each other’s crowns and not breaking them off.
So here’s what Women’s Day really means for us. Celebrating you, and what you mean to the world.
Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom, a hard-working corporate queen, a teacher, a doctor, a small business owner, a baker, or whatever the hell you want to be. Just be you. And that is more than enough.
And when you leave this blog and get back to your messy masterpiece of a life, remember this.
Behind every woman who wins is a tribe of other women holding her up. Cheering like maniacs. Never letting anyone dim the light.
So. Messy buns? Check. Big dreams? Check. A sprinkle of glitter and a whole lot of heart? Always. A tribe behind me keeping my crown up? DOUBLE CHECK.
Happy Women’s Day to the queens who are doing their damn best every single day.
Love,
Sonette
